The history of Hapert
Wagenbouw HAPERT B.V. has officially existed since 1966, but the company has been making history since 1913, when the grandfather of director Ad Saris started a small forge in Eindhoven.

1966
Over 50 years later, on June 1, 1966, the manufacturing area was completed and Wagenbouw HAPERT B.V. was born. One week later, the first HAPERT trailer goes on sale.
In 1984, Ad jr., Ad Saris’ son, joins the business. He starts as a calculator in the office. Five years later, in 1989, Wagenbouw opened a new welding hall at Industrieweg in Hapert. The production capacity increases enormously due to the new welding hall. That year, 4,500 trailers leave the factory, a new record.

1994-1998
In 1994, Ad Saris Sr. officially passed the baton to his son Ad Jr. The demand for trailers continues to rise. HAPERT further increased production, which resulted in the factory on Industrieweg becoming too small. A completely new building is being built on the Handelsweg in Hapert, where HAPERT’s head office is still located. In 1998, another 13,000-square-meter production hall is added, paving the way for even more growth. That year, 7,500 trailers will be delivered, two-thirds of which will be distributed to a dealer network in the Netherlands and Flanders. The rest goes to Germany and Switzerland.
A new century
Right after the turn of the century, HAPERT was one of the first trailer manufacturers to launch a modern website: www.HAPERT.com. Consumers can now put together their own trailer and request a quote from their nearest dealer. The customer can go in any direction. From tandem axles to semi-trailers, from tippers, open, closed, with hood, flaps on the side, extra low loading floor, with driving plates, everything is possible.

2015
In 2015, HAPERT made its 200,000th trailer. HAPERT continues to innovate, to think ahead. Marketing and branding will be the focal points of the coming years. The new logo centers on a bull, as a sign of strength. The new slogan: BRING IT ON. Keep it coming, whatever it is, a HAPERT trailer transports it!
In the process, all trailers have been given new names. They are no longer combinations of numbers and letters, but sounding names like Cobalt, Indigo, Azure or Sapphire – all referring to shades of blue.
Anyone can promise something. That’s why at HAPERT Trailers we prefer to give a warranty! To further emphasize the quality and durability of the HAPERT trailer, the buyer of a new HAPERT trailer will receive as much as a 10-year warranty on the trailer chassis from March 2020.

2023
In the summer of 2023, the long-awaited transformation of our headquarters was successfully completed. The building now shines in its renewed glory, and we are pleased to share that we have made a special addition: a contemporary cafeteria, designed in a homey style that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The cafeteria was designed as an informal meeting place, where employees can relax and catch up in a setting reminiscent of a homey living room. Comfortable seating, warm lighting and carefully curated furnishings add to the conviviality, making the space serve not only as a dining venue, but also as a place where colleagues can connect and exchange ideas.
