The history of Hapert
Wagenbouw Hapert B.V. has officially existed since 1966, but the company has been making history since 1913. That year, the grandfather of director Ad Saris opened a small forge in Eindhoven.

More than 50 years later, on 1 June 1966, the production department was completed and Wagenbouw Hapert B.V. was born. One week later, the first Hapert trailer entered the market.
In 1984, Ad Jr., the son of Ad Saris, joined the company. He started as a calculator in the office. Five years later, in 1989, Wagenbouw opened a new welding hall on Industrieweg in Hapert. Thanks to this new welding hall, production capacity increased enormously. That year, 4,500 trailers left the factory – a new record.

1994-1998
In 1994, Ad Saris Sr. officially handed over the reins to his son Ad Jr. Demand for trailers continued to grow. Hapert further expanded production, which meant that the factory on Industrieweg became too small. A completely new building was constructed on Handelsweg in Hapert, where Hapert’s head office is still located today. In 1998, another 13,000-square-metre production hall was added. This paved the way for further growth. That year, 7,500 trailers were delivered, two thirds of which were sold through the dealer network in the Netherlands and Flanders. The rest went to Germany and Switzerland.
A new century
Immediately after the turn of the century, Hapert was one of the first trailer manufacturers with a modern website: www.hapert.com. Customers could now configure their own trailer and request a quotation from the nearest dealer. This gave customers plenty of options. From tandem axle trailers to turntable trailers, from tippers to open or enclosed trailers, with a high cover, side flaps, an extra-low load floor or loading ramps: many configurations were possible.

2015
In 2015, Hapert produced its 200,000th trailer. Hapert is constantly looking for innovation and thinking ahead. Marketing and branding became increasingly central in the years that followed. The new logo features a bull as a symbol of strength. The new slogan: BRING IT ON. Whatever it is, bring it on: a Hapert trailer will transport it!
In line with this, all trailers were given new names. It was no longer about number and letter combinations, but about strong names such as Cobalt, Indigo, Azure and Sapphire, all of which refer to shades of blue.
Anyone can make promises. That is why we at Hapert Trailers prefer to offer a warranty. To further underline the quality and durability of Hapert trailers, buyers of a new Hapert trailer have even received a 10-year chassis warranty since March 2020.

2023
In the summer of 2023, the long-awaited renovation of our head office was successfully completed. The building now shines again, and we are pleased to share that we have added something special: a modern company canteen in a homely style, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The canteen has been designed as an informal meeting place where employees can relax and talk to each other in a homely environment. Comfortable seating, warm lighting and carefully selected furniture contribute to the pleasant atmosphere. This makes the space not only a place to eat, but also a place where colleagues come together and exchange ideas.
