What is a three-way tipping trailer?
A three-way tipping trailer can tip to the left, right and rear. This lets you unload sand, gravel, green waste or building materials quickly and in a controlled manner, exactly where needed.
When should you choose a three-way tipping trailer?
When you regularly work on confined building sites, in gardens or beside a road, or need to unload directly beside the trailer. If you mainly unload to the rear in spacious locations, a rear tipping trailer will often be sufficient.
Which Cobalt HM models are available?
The tandem-axle Cobalt HM-2 comes in five sizes from 305 × 180 to 405 × 200 cm (2,700 to 3,500 kg), the three-axle Cobalt HM-3 in 405 × 200 cm (3,500 kg), and the comprehensively equipped Cobalt+ as the HM-2+ or HM-3+.
How much can a Cobalt HM carry?
Payload ranges from 1,737 to 2,629 kg, depending on size and weight class. It equals gross vehicle weight minus unladen weight; options contribute to the unladen weight. See the values for each size in the table above.
What is the difference between the HM-2 and Cobalt+?
The Cobalt+ is the comprehensively equipped version. Standard equipment includes a Ferro floor, 40 cm anthracite sideboards with Combi Protect Rail, heavy-duty 800 kg jockey wheel, loading ramp package, ladder rack, protected LED rear lights, emergency hand pump, battery charger, parabolic suspension and off-road tyres (185/70R13C). Its gross vehicle weight is always 3,500 kg. The HM-2 offers more sizes and weight classes, with options to configure your own trailer.
Does the Cobalt HM have electric controls as standard?
Yes, with a 12V pump, battery and battery indicator as standard. An emergency hand pump, battery charger and Hapert Remote Control are available as options. For occasional tipping, manual operation with a hydraulic hand pump can also be selected.
Can a three-way tipping trailer be fitted with options?
Yes. Options include 40 cm sideboards, sideboard extensions, mesh side extensions, a loading ramp package, ladder rack, tarpaulin cover, Ferro floor, LED rear lights, shock absorbers, parabolic suspension and a spare wheel. Explore the combinations in the configurator.

Which size and how many axles?
First choose between HM-2 (tandem axle), HM-3 (tridem axle) or the comprehensively equipped Cobalt+. Then compare load-bed sizes and weight classes to suit your load.
