Hapert Cobalt HB-2 · Meeuwsen B&T

What our customers say

Simply a pleasure to work with.

Meeuwsen B&T is a landscaping and tree-care business. Besides garden maintenance, design and planting, it specialises in planting, transplanting, maintaining and preserving mature trees, as well as soil and growing-site improvement. It mainly serves south-east Brabant and northern Limburg, travelling throughout the Netherlands for major projects such as moving monumental trees with root balls weighing up to 150 tonnes.

Meeuwsen has used Hapert trailers for more than eight years, currently a Cobalt HB-2 and a Cobalt HM-2+. It started by chance when Chris’s cousins were selling their Hapert as he launched his business. “As a new business owner, it was just what I needed. It performed so well that I never changed brands. I did not hesitate when choosing the new trailers, and I certainly have no regrets.”

What does he value most? “How they perform at work. Build quality is very good, making them a lasting investment. They are practical and have hardly any faults. Overall, simply a pleasure to work with.”

01

Frequently asked questions about rear tipping trailers

Clear answers about the Cobalt HB-1 and HB-2, payload, controls, options and service.

Still have a question? Ask a Hapert dealer →

What is a rear tipping trailer?

A rear tipping trailer tips its load bed backwards. This lets you unload sand, gravel, green waste, rubble or building materials quickly and in a controlled manner.

When should you choose a rear tipping trailer?

When you mainly unload directly behind the trailer. This is ideal for landscapers, contractors, paving companies and professionals in construction, civil engineering and grounds maintenance. Need to unload to the left or right as well, for example beside a road? Discover the three-way tipping trailer.

Which Cobalt HB models are available?

The single-axle Cobalt HB-1 comes in three sizes from 260 × 150 to 305 × 160 cm (1,350 to 1,800 kg), while the tandem-axle Cobalt HB-2 comes in 280 × 160 and 305 × 160 cm (2,000 or 2,700 kg).

How much can a Cobalt HB carry?

Payload ranges from 809 to 2,043 kg, depending on the model, size and weight class. It equals the gross vehicle weight minus the trailer’s unladen weight; options contribute to that unladen weight. See the values for each size in the table above.

What are the benefits of a rear tipping trailer?

A rear tipping trailer makes unloading faster, safer and less strenuous. You save time on site and reduce manual shovelling. The Cobalt HB can also be towed by a suitable passenger car, subject to its towing capacity and the applicable licence requirements.

Hand pump or electric controls?

The Cobalt HB comes with a hydraulic hand pump as standard: reliable, battery-free and ready to work. If you tip frequently, choose 12V electric controls (+45 kg). An emergency hand pump, battery charger and Hapert Remote Control are available as options.

What should you consider when buying a rear tipping trailer?

Consider payload, dimensions, tipping angle, floor, controls and your vehicle’s towing capacity. Also consider options such as mesh side extensions, a loading ramp package, rear supports and load securing points.

Can a rear tipping trailer be fitted with options?

Yes. Options include electric controls, 40 cm sideboards, sideboard extensions, mesh side extensions, a loading ramp package, rear supports, LED lighting and shock absorbers. Configure the trailer to suit the way you work. Explore the combinations in the configurator.

How much does a Cobalt rear tipping trailer cost?

The Cobalt HB-1 starts at € 3.28521423 excl. VAT, excluding delivery preparation costs and registration fees. As a Fastmover available from stock, it currently starts at € 3.168. The price depends on the model, size, weight class and equipment. Configure your trailer and ask a Hapert dealer for current prices and availability.

Where can I buy a Cobalt rear tipping trailer?

An official Hapert dealer offers personal advice, the current range, servicing and repairs. Register your trailer to receive a 10-year chassis warranty, subject to the applicable terms and conditions. You can configure your tipping trailer online beforehand.

02

Good to know before buying

Three topics to help you choose the right Cobalt rear tipping trailer.

Which size and how many axles?

First choose between the HB-1 (single axle) and HB-2 (tandem axle). Then compare load-bed sizes and weight classes to suit your load.

Compare the models →

What is payload?

Payload equals the gross vehicle weight minus the tipping trailer’s unladen weight.

How to calculate payload
Gross vehicle weight − unladen weight = payload
Selected options contribute to the unladen weight.

See the payload for each size →

Is your combination suitable?

Check that the trailer, towing vehicle and driving licence suit your transport.

  • Check the permitted weights of the vehicle and trailer.
  • Allow for the weight of sand, gravel or rubble.
  • If unsure, ask a dealer to assess your combination.

Which trailer can I tow? →

Your unloading location makes the difference. Mainly unloading straight behind the trailer? The Cobalt HB is your best choice. Need to unload to the left or right, in a confined space or beside a road? Discover the Cobalt HM. View the three-way tipping trailer →
