The story of construction welder Ger

Hapert Trailers is an innovator among trailer manufacturers. As a trailer manufacturer, we believe in a world unburdened by transportation. We contribute to this by inspiring, inventing, developing and collaborating. Ger likes to tell what it is like to be part of that ideal.

How did you end up here?

I joined HAPERT Trailers in 1978. Back then it was a small company that employed a total of only 12 people. The decisive factor in choosing HAPERT was the work environment and working atmosphere. We then really felt like you were working with your friend group. Over the years, I have seen HAPERT grow enormously and the company now employs about 100 people. This growth also means that more structure has been added, but the great thing is that the family atmosphere has been retained. After all, we are in Brabant, and so you notice that! The bougondic, the openness

“You really make friendships here.

Why do you still choose HAPERT every day?

On the one hand, of course, this has to do with my age, then you don’t change as quickly anymore. Of course, in all the years, I have doubted at times. That seems normal to me; you have that for other things in your life, too. Think about friendships, love or leisure activities. Everyone goes through different phases in his or her life. In these phases, you sometimes ask yourself the “maybe somewhere else would be nice too”? But then I always realized, when I leave here I really do leave behind a very fine company.

What are you most proud of?

I am especially proud of the changes within the company that I have been privileged to participate in. As mentioned earlier, I started at HAPERT when it was a small company. I have been part of the growth. A concrete example is setting up and designing a new production line. I am also proud of the new developments at HAPERT. For example, our new welding robot gave more peace and structure to the production line.

“At HAPERT Trailers, I really had a wonderful career”
