Which driving licence do you need?
With a category B driving licence, you may tow a trailer with a weight of up to 750 kg. This is the weight of the trailer plus the load. With a category B driving licence, you may also tow a trailer heavier than 750 kg, as long as the total weight of the car and trailer does not exceed 3,500 kg. Our open box trailers have a minimum gross vehicle weight of 750 kg and are available up to 3,500 kg. This means that in some cases you can tow an open box trailer with a category B driving licence, but for heavier loads you will often need a B+ or BE driving licence.
